Breast Cancer Prevention Project “Do not delay” which is active more than seven year integrates hundreds of well-wishing people and congenials. On the 28th of August project volunteers, coordinators, sponsors, doctors and all the project supporting people were summoned into the annual thanks giving event. Especially for them in Užupis street 30 was held a concert during which performed Mr. Jacunskas, R. Savickas, A. Daraškaitė, Kostas Smoriginas and Olegas Ditkovskis.
“Do not delay“- low resources – major works
At the beginning of the Project, to talk about cancer was taboo, meanwhile every other woman suffering from breast cancer died. Today the situation is different – curve of fatalities not only stopped, but it began to descend rapidly, and the pink ribbon has surrounded the whole Lithuania. Pink Ribbon Mini-bus with a medical team visited more than 600 small towns in all over Lithuania and checked against breast cancer more than 63 thousand women for free.
The Project steer the fate of 600 women, who became aware of their illness in a Pink Ribbon Minibus. Most of these cases means saved or significantly prolonged lives, because statistics show that only 4 percent of breast cancer suspicions were not confirmed. In addition, every fifth woman benign breast lesions were diagnosed. For the majority of women who visited the Pink Ribbon Mini-bus, it was the first acquaintance with mammography and radiology.
“Do not delay” has showed that it is possible to do a lot of important work with limited financial resources – whether it’s origami cranes flexing and donating to suffering the illness or elderly as a symbol of health and longevity or a marathon of solidarity for those who defeated the disease, or sacred music concerts and mass for the dead woman, or a discussion in a small library about books that titles contains the word “woman”, or contest “Let my city blossom” with an invitation to grow flowers at home, but also a balcony or backyard, etc. This powerful wave of goodness becomes stronger and stronger and rolls all over Lithuania.
It is often said: save the man – save the world. But if you save a woman, you also save her relatives - children, husband and friends. It was worth to start the Project even for one woman, meanwhile “Do not delay” touched thousands of women’s lives.

Esu sužaveta ponios Agnės kuklumu ir jos didžiais darbais. Ražinio autobuselio kelionės pas Lietuvos moterys beveik į namus senai stebino, o padėkos vakaras Užupyje sužavėjo.
Didžios sekmės Agnės šeimai ir projekto “Nedelsk” kolektyvui.
Su pagarba Rima iš Utenos
